Zwickau is in southwestern Saxony, on the Zwickauer Mulde river. The old town sits on the west bank, a compact area of irregular medieval streets around the market and St. Mary's Church. The city is known for music and cars. Robert Schumann was born here, and his house on the market square is now a museum.
