Rio de Contas
The river runs through the urban area and gives the map its central axis. Streets on both sides bend to follow it, and the crossings between the banks stand out as short, bold links.

Jequié Map Poster & Print
Jequié lies in the interior of Bahia, where the Rio de Contas cuts a valley through dry, rolling country. The city grew along the river and its tributaries, so from above the street network follows the valley floor before spilling onto the slopes around it. The centre has a denser, more regular pattern, while newer districts curve with the contours of the hills.
The city is widely known as the Cidade Sol, the City of the Sun, a nickname that comes from its persistent heat. It sits in a transition zone where the caatinga scrubland of the sertão meets remnants of the Atlantic forest. The BR-116 highway runs through the municipality and makes Jequié a regional centre for trade and services in southwestern Bahia.
On paper, the clearest elements are the river, the bridges that stitch its banks together, and the long roads leading out towards the highway. A Jequié map poster turns this into a study of valley and ridge: a central spine of water, clusters of blocks leaning against the hillsides, and roads fanning out into open land.

Hillside districts
Away from the centre, neighbourhoods climb the surrounding hills. Their streets curve and fork with the terrain, which gives the edges of the poster a looser, more organic texture.
Highway approaches
The BR-116 and regional roads enter the city as long, straight lines, a clear contrast to the tighter pattern of the older central blocks near the river.
