Keevallur lies in the Kannur district of northern Kerala, inland from the Malabar coast, where the land rises gradually from the coastal plain into low laterite hills. Like many settlements in this part of Kerala, it is not a compact town but a dispersed area of houses, groves and small roads spread across the landscape.
