Fuiloro plateau
The town lies on a raised limestone plateau, so its roads cross fairly level ground before dropping toward the coasts to the north and south.

Lospalos Map Poster & Print
Lospalos is the capital of the Lautém municipality at the eastern end of Timor-Leste. It sits on the Fuiloro plateau, a raised limestone upland inland from the north coast. The town spreads out loosely along its roads rather than in a dense grid. From above, low-rise neighbourhoods, gardens and open plots fade gradually into farmland and forest.
The area is the homeland of the Fataluku people, whose traditional houses, raised on posts with tall pitched roofs, are among the most recognisable images of Timor-Leste. To the east lies Lake Ira Lalaro, the largest lake in the country. Further east still are the protected landscapes of Nino Konis Santana National Park and Jaco Island.
A Lospalos map poster reflects the openness of the plateau: roads radiating outward, scattered blocks, and wide spaces between settlements. The result is lighter and more spacious than most town maps. It makes a gentle, elegant print for anyone with roots in Lautém or memories of travelling to the far east of the island.

Radiating roads
Routes lead from Lospalos toward the north coast, Tutuala and the lake country. They form a simple radiating pattern that frames the town in the middle of the print.
Open settlement
Houses and gardens are spread out rather than packed together. The map has a loose texture in which green plots and small tracks matter as much as streets.
