The railway viaduct
The long, two-tier stone viaduct carries the railway straight across the valley above the town centre, drawing a bold line through the otherwise curving street plan.

Morlaix Map Poster & Print
Morlaix lies in north-western Brittany, at the point where small rivers meet and continue as a tidal estuary toward the Bay of Morlaix. The town sits deep in a narrow valley, and on a map its streets squeeze along the valley floor before climbing the steep sides in winding lanes and stairways. The waterway and its quays form the spine of the plan.
The town's best-known structure is its two-level stone railway viaduct, built in the 1860s for the Paris–Brest line, which strides across the valley above the old centre. Morlaix also keeps a number of half-timbered houses, including the so-called Maison de la Reine Anne, a reminder of its prosperity as a trading and linen port.
A Morlaix map poster shows a town defined by its valley: the dense old centre at the bottom, the long quays of the port reaching north toward the estuary, and the roads bending up the slopes. The viaduct's straight line across the curves makes a striking focal point in black and white.

Port and estuary
North of the centre, quays line the water as it widens into a tidal estuary that runs out toward the Bay of Morlaix and the Channel coast.
Valley-side lanes
Steep streets and stairways climb from the old centre up both sides of the valley, creating tight bends and switchbacks that give the map texture.
