Sayville Map Poster & Print
Sayville lies on the South Shore of Long Island in Suffolk County, New York, facing the Great South Bay. From above, the hamlet is a grid of residential streets running down toward the water, cut by small creeks and edged by marsh. Montauk Highway crosses the centre as Main Street, and the Long Island Rail Road runs a little further inland.
Sayville is best known as a departure point for Fire Island: ferries leave from its waterfront across the bay to Cherry Grove, Fire Island Pines and Sailors Haven. The bay shoreline, with its inlets and marinas, has long shaped local life, from summer traffic to boating and the clamming tradition of the Great South Bay.
A Sayville map poster balances land and water in an elegant way. The orderly streets of the hamlet meet a ragged shoreline of creeks and marsh, and the open bay stretches toward Fire Island at the bottom of the frame. It is a composition that captures the feel of the South Shore, calm, green and always oriented toward the water.

Ferry harbour
Ferries to Fire Island depart from Sayville's waterfront, a small but important point where the street grid meets the bay and summer journeys begin.
Creeks and marsh
Narrow creeks and tidal marshes cut into the shoreline, giving the southern edge of the hamlet an intricate, fringed outline that contrasts with the regular streets.
