Ādīs K’idamē lies in the Amhara Region of northwestern Ethiopia, on the high plateau that covers much of the country. The land around it is largely farmed. Fields, scattered homesteads and eucalyptus stands extend in every direction from the town.
The town has grown along its main road, and the map shows this clearly. There is a dense strip where shops and markets meet the road, with residential lanes branching off on either side. Beyond them, footpaths and tracks lead out into the farmland and toward the villages.
