Al Ḩudaydah Map Poster & Print
Al Ḩudaydah is Yemen's principal Red Sea port and the largest city of the Tihama, the hot, flat coastal plain along the country's western edge. On a map the city stretches along the shore, with the port and its quays at one end, older quarters behind the seafront and a spread of newer neighbourhoods extending inland across level ground.
The port has long been a lifeline for the country, handling a large share of Yemen's imports of food and fuel. In recent years the city has been deeply affected by conflict, and its name has become familiar internationally through news of humanitarian efforts. The older quarter, with its traditional houses, reflects centuries of trade across the Red Sea.
An Al Ḩudaydah map poster presents the city in calm, quiet lines: the curve of the coast, the geometry of the harbour and the dense old quarters behind it. For Yemenis abroad and for people with family ties to the Tihama, it offers a way to keep the shape of home close, apart from the headlines.

Old quarter
Behind the seafront, the older part of the city forms a denser pattern of narrow streets, distinct from the more regular districts further inland.
Tihama plain
Inland, the city spreads across flat coastal ground with few natural obstacles, so its roads extend outward in long, straight lines.

For many Yemenis living far from home, Al Ḩudaydah is remembered through its streets, its sea air and its markets. A map poster keeps that memory steady and personal, without the noise of the news.
