Roman wall circuit
The line of the ancient walls traces a wide enclosure around the town. It shows how large Augustodunum once was compared with the settlement that fills it today.

Autun Map Poster & Print
Autun was founded under Augustus as Augustodunum, and its Roman footprint is still visible from above. A long circuit of walls encloses far more ground than the modern town fills. Straight streets in the lower town echo the ancient layout, while the upper town climbs a spur to the south towards the Cathedral of Saint-Lazare.
The cathedral is known for its Romanesque sculpture, especially the carved tympanum signed by Gislebertus. The Roman legacy is equally present: two monumental gates, the Porte d'Arroux and the Porte Saint-André, still stand. There are also remains of a large theatre and the tower known as the Temple of Janus beyond the river.
An Autun map poster captures a town where two thousand years of planning overlap. The Arroux runs along the northern side and wooded hills of the Morvan rise beyond. Between them lies an irregular medieval hilltop joined to a grid laid out by Roman surveyors. The map carries both clearly.

Cathedral hilltop
The upper town gathers around Saint-Lazare on higher ground. Its twisting streets are clearly different from the straighter lines of the lower town below.
The Arroux valley
The river runs along the town's northern edge, near the Porte d'Arroux and the Temple of Janus. It gives the map a natural boundary.

ဘာကြောင့် Autun
အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရှိသော မြေပုံ
Autun appeals to people who care about history written into a street plan. It suits a study, a hallway or the home of someone who has walked its Roman gates and stood under the Gislebertus tympanum.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can all be personalised. Among the five styles, Paper and Sand suit the town's age, while Classic black and white, Noir and Blueprint give it a sharper, more graphic look.
