The Nyang River
The river runs the length of the town and organises everything around it. Streets, blocks and crossings line up along its course, giving the map a strong, flowing axis.

Bayi Map Poster & Print
Bayi is the seat of Nyingchi in southeastern Tibet, and from above it follows the lie of the land. The town runs along the Nyang River in a narrow band. Its main roads keep close to the water, and the steep, wooded slopes to either side hold development to the valley floor. The result is a linear plan, much longer than it is wide.
The name means August First, the founding date of the People's Liberation Army, and the town is young by Tibetan standards, largely built in the second half of the twentieth century. It lies well below Lhasa, and its valleys are known for dense forests and a milder climate than most of the plateau. Since 2021 the Lhasa–Nyingchi railway has connected it to the regional capital.
A Bayi map poster captures that shape directly. A river line runs through the sheet, bridges and streets gather along it, and the terrain around it is mostly empty paper. It suits anyone who likes maps where geography, not planning, sets the outline.

Valley-floor plan
The mountains leave little flat ground, so the built area forms a slim ribbon. On the poster, the dense town fades quickly into open space where the slopes rise.
River crossings
Bridges stitch the two banks together at intervals. They appear as short, sharp lines across the water and break up the long run of the valley.

အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရှိသော မြေပုံ
Bayi is a place people often reach on a long journey through southeastern Tibet, by road or on the newer railway from Lhasa. A map of its river valley is a calm way to remember that trip, or a posting there, without relying on photographs.
