Beidou Map Poster & Print
Beidou is a township in the south of Changhua County, on the flat, intensively farmed plain of western Taiwan. The town centre is compact, with a knot of older streets surrounded by newer blocks. Beyond it, a network of straight roads and channels divides the land into small, regular fields.
The town has long served as a market centre for the surrounding farmland, and it is widely known in Taiwan for its version of ba-wan, the translucent stuffed dumpling. The large Zhuoshui River flows across the plain to the south, marking the border between Changhua and Yunlin.
A Beidou map poster shows how old and new layers meet in a Taiwanese market town. The historic streets bend and narrow at the centre, while the land around them follows a precise agricultural grid. The contrast makes for a map that is detailed without feeling busy.

Field grid
Around the town, straight roads and irrigation channels create a fine pattern of rectangular plots across the plain.
The plain
The land is almost completely flat, so the map is defined by the lines people have drawn on it, not by hills or coast.
