Bela is a town in the Lasbela district of Balochistan, Pakistan, located on the plain of the Porali river. The land around it is dry and open, framed by hills to the north and east. On a map the town appears as a small, dense settlement with a main road passing through, and irrigated fields and dry riverbeds nearby.
The national highway linking Karachi with Quetta runs past Bela, so the town has long served as a stopping point for travellers and trade. Its streets are compact and irregular in the older parts, with newer buildings stretching along the road. Watercourses on the plain show as branching lines, depending on the season.
