River confluence
The Vyoksa joins the Kostroma River at the edge of the old town, a clear Y-shape of water that marks where the fortress settlement first began.

Buy grew up where the Vyoksa flows into the Kostroma River, in the forested north of Kostroma Oblast. The two rivers give the town a clear frame. Wooden and brick neighbourhoods fill the land between the water channels, and the Kostroma curves on toward the Volga. Around the town, the map fades into forest, meadows and oxbow lakes.
Buy was founded as a fortress in 1536 to guard the approaches against raids from the Kazan Khanate. Later it became a major junction of the Northern Railway, where the line from Yaroslavl to Vologda meets the route heading east. On the map, fans of tracks and long yards cut across the town and form a sharp, industrial counterpoint to the winding rivers.
A Buy map poster captures both sides of the town: the older, compact streets near the confluence and the long straight lines of the railway. Rendered in black and white, the contrast between the water and the tracks becomes the main subject of the print, with pale forest filling the edges.

Railway junction
Main lines of the Northern Railway meet here, drawing long parallel tracks, sidings and yards straight through the urban fabric.
Floodplain meadows
Beyond the town, the rivers wander through low meadows scattered with oxbow lakes and old channels that give the map's edges a soft texture.

အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရှိသော မြေပုံ
Buy is a railway town in the family memory of many people who worked on the lines or passed through its station. A map of its rivers and tracks is a quiet, specific keepsake for anyone who lived here or who has roots in the Kostroma region.
You can personalise the print with a title, a subtitle and the coordinates line, perhaps with a year or family name. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
