Upper Zambezi
The river winds past the town in wide meanders, with loops, side channels and oxbow lakes. These give the map its strongest and most intricate lines.

Cazombo Map Poster & Print
Cazombo lies in the far east of Angola, on the upper Zambezi River, in a region that pushes out between Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. On the map the town is small and loosely arranged. Its streets are set back from the river, and roads leave it across flat, sparsely settled country.
The Zambezi here is still young, flowing through wide floodplains that fill during the rainy season, and the land around it is a mix of woodland, grassland and wetland. Under Angola's recent administrative reform, Cazombo became the capital of the new province of Moxico Leste, which gives this remote town a new role in the region.
A Cazombo map poster is defined by the river. The Zambezi's meanders, oxbows and seasonal channels form the most detailed part of the composition, while the town's streets and the long sandy roads leading away add a lighter, human layer. In black and white the result is spacious and calm, a map of a place still shaped by water.

Floodplain around town
Broad, flat floodplains flank the river and flood each season. On the map they appear as open space crossed by faint channels and marshy edges.
Roads into the bush
A few long roads and tracks lead out of Cazombo across woodland and grassland. They are thin lines reaching toward distant towns and the nearby borders.

အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရှိသော မြေပုံ
Few people outside Angola know Cazombo, which is why a map of it means so much to those who do: families from the region, aid and survey workers, and travellers who followed the Zambezi to its early course.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or a few words of your own, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint shows the river lines especially clearly.
