Traditional centre
The old heart of Doma, linked to the seat of the Andoma, forms a dense cluster of lanes and compounds that stands out as the busiest part of the map.

Doma Map Poster & Print
Doma lies in Nasarawa State in central Nigeria, on the gently rolling savanna of the Benue lowlands. The town has grown around its older core, and on a map roads come in from several directions and meet near the centre. Houses and compounds spread outward along these routes into farmland.
Doma is the seat of the Andoma of Doma, the traditional ruler of a historic chiefdom associated with the Alago people. That role gives the town a significance beyond its size. The oldest quarters sit close together near the centre, and newer neighbourhoods follow the roads outward.
A Doma map poster shows a town that grew outward from its historic centre. The core is dense and irregular, and the edges loosen into open land and scattered buildings. Roads leaving for neighbouring towns draw clear lines across the savanna and give the composition a sense of direction.

Radiating roads
Several roads converge on the town from the surrounding region, and settlement stretches along them in long arms reaching out into the countryside.
Savanna edges
Beyond the built-up area, farmland and open savanna take over, leaving broad empty space that sets off the finer detail of the town centre.
