Planned central avenues
Wide, straight avenues and open squares in the centre reflect ambitious early twentieth-century planning, and they form the strongest lines in the composition.

Huambo Map Poster & Print
Huambo sits on Angola's central plateau at around 1,700 metres, and the map shows a city spread across gently rolling country rather than squeezed by any coast or river. The centre is laid out with wide avenues and open squares. Beyond them, neighbourhoods extend outward along the main roads, and the grid gradually loosens into less regular settlement at the edges.
The town was founded in 1912 on the Benguela Railway, the line linking the Atlantic coast to the interior, and for decades it was known as Nova Lisboa. Colonial planners once intended it to become Angola's capital, which explains the generous scale of the central layout. The city suffered heavily during the civil war and has been rebuilt since.
A Huambo map poster brings out that planned core: long straight avenues, roundabouts and the railway line cutting across the city. Because the plateau around it is open, the streets spread out evenly in every direction, and the print reads as a measured, almost diagrammatic composition. It suits anyone who knows the city's high, cool climate and its wide streets.

Benguela Railway
The railway that brought the town into being crosses the map as a long, steady stroke linking Huambo to the coast in one direction and the interior in the other.
Open plateau setting
With no sea or major river to shape it, the city spreads fairly evenly across the highlands, giving the map a balanced outline.

အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရှိသော မြေပုံ
Huambo matters to many families inside and outside Angola, and a map of its streets can hold memories of a childhood home, a school or a return visit. The calm, graphic style suits a city whose layout says a lot about its past.
Put a family name or a year in the title and subtitle, keep or adjust the coordinates line, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The result is a personal print rather than a generic map.
