Kakiri Map Poster & Print
Kakiri is a town in Wakiso District in central Uganda, northwest of Kampala. From above, it follows a pattern common to many towns in the region. The main road runs straight through the centre, with shops and markets gathered along it, and residential lanes branch away into the surrounding hills.
The land here is green and gently rolling, with small farms, gardens and patches of wetland in the valleys. Beyond the town centre, settlement becomes scattered, with homes set among plots of banana and other crops. Footpaths and dirt roads form a loose network between them.
Kakiri is also known for its army training base. A Kakiri map poster shows the town as it actually sits in the landscape: a highway town with a dense centre and a web of lanes spreading gradually into the countryside.

Branching lanes
Smaller roads and tracks leave the highway at intervals and wander into the hills, giving the map an organic, branching shape.
Rolling farmland
Around the town, gardens, fields and valley wetlands create open space, so the built area fades out gradually instead of ending sharply.
