Valley settlement
The town sits along the valley floor, so its streets form a long, narrow band between the hills and not a round centre.

Kathu Map Poster & Print
Kathu is one of the three districts of Phuket, and its town sits inland in a valley that runs between Phuket Town in the east and the beaches of the west coast. On a map the built-up area follows the valley floor. Green, hilly ground rises on both sides, and a few roads twist over the ridges.
Long before tourism, Kathu was a tin-mining centre, and that industry shaped early settlement on the island. The district also reaches the Andaman Sea at Patong, one of Phuket's best-known beach towns, so the same administrative area includes both a quiet inland town and a busy coastal strip.
A Kathu map poster makes the contrast between hills and valley easy to read. The streets gather where the land is flat, and the blank spaces show where the slopes are too steep to build on. The roads that cross toward the coast make a thin link from the island's interior to the sea.

Hill roads to Patong
Winding roads climb over the ridge toward Patong on the west coast. On the poster they show up as loose, curving lines across otherwise empty ground.
Tin-mining past
Kathu grew as one of Phuket's tin-mining towns. The older settlement pattern in the valley comes from that time, before the island turned to tourism.

အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရှိသော မြေပုံ
Many people know Phuket only by its beaches, but those who have lived or stayed in Kathu know the valley in between. A map of it makes a personal souvenir of a stay, or a reminder of the quieter side of the island.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a date or message, edit the coordinates, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital files cost $9, and printed posters with an optional wooden frame ship from partners in over 30 countries.
