Harbour and coast
The town follows the shoreline of Faxaflói, and the small harbour at its northern end gives the coastline a sharp man-made edge.

Keflavík Map Poster & Print
Keflavík is on the northern shore of the Reykjanes Peninsula in south-west Iceland, facing the bay of Faxaflói. Since 1994 it has been part of the municipality of Reykjanesbær, together with neighbouring Njarðvík. For most travellers it is their first view of Iceland, as the country's main international airport lies just outside the town.
On the map Keflavík is a compact town stretching along the coast, with the small harbour at the north end and grids of residential streets climbing a little inland. Around the town the land is open and bare, lava fields and moss, with the long runways of the airport, formerly a NATO base, to the west.
A Keflavík map poster captures a clear contrast: a tight coastal town, the open sea and the empty land around it. It suits Icelanders from Reykjanes, former base families and travellers whose Icelandic journey began here.

Airport runways
West of the town, the long straight runways of Keflavík International Airport cut through the open landscape in bold geometric strokes.
Open lava fields
Around the built-up area the land is almost empty, so the town's streets appear as a compact island of lines surrounded by white space.
