Khāsh Map Poster & Print
Khāsh lies in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan in south-eastern Iran, on a high plateau between Zahedan and the south of the province. From above it is a compact town with a fairly regular street pattern. Main roads cross near the centre, and the edges give way quickly to arid, open land.
The landscape around Khāsh is dramatic even on a flat map. To the north rises Taftan, a large volcano and one of the most prominent peaks in south-eastern Iran. The town's elevation gives it a milder climate than the lowland deserts nearby, and it serves as a local centre for the surrounding Baluch communities.
A Khāsh map poster sets a small, orderly grid inside a vast, empty frame. That contrast is what makes it striking in a minimalist style. The street network forms a neat, dense core, and the roads leaving it run long and straight across the plateau, as if drawn with a ruler.

Long desert roads
Roads leave the town in straight lines toward Zahedan and other centres, crossing wide stretches of arid land with very little around them.
Taftan to the north
The volcano Taftan rises north of the town, a major landmark of the region even though the map itself shows only the settlement below.
