Koga Map Poster & Print
Koga lies at the western edge of Ibaraki Prefecture, close to where Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma and Saitama meet. Water defines the map. The Watarase River runs along the town's western side, and the Tone River flows nearby to the south. The flat land between them holds railway lines, residential streets and neat blocks of farmland.
Just northwest of the town is the Watarase Retention Basin, one of the largest flood-control reservoirs in Japan. It was created from wetlands and is now a Ramsar-listed wetland. On a poster the heart-shaped Yanaka Lake and the surrounding reed beds form a large, calm shape beside the street pattern of the town.
Koga has a long past. In the Muromachi period it was the seat of the Koga kubō, the branch of the Ashikaga family that governed the Kanto region for more than a century. A Koga map poster places that history in its landscape of rivers, embankments and quiet residential lanes.

Watarase River embankments
Long river levees trace the western side of the town, clean parallel lines that show how carefully the Kanto Plain's waters are managed.
Station-centred streets
The area around the railway station holds the densest grid of streets, spreading into residential blocks and then farmland at the edges.
