Lagarto Map Poster & Print
Lagarto lies in the interior of Sergipe, in north-eastern Brazil, in a transition zone between the humid coast and the drier backlands. From above, the town is a compact cluster of streets around its historic centre. Roads lead out through a landscape of pasture, small farms and patches of vegetation.
It is one of the larger municipalities in the state and acts as a service and market centre for the surrounding rural area. The town is also the birthplace of Sílvio Romero, the nineteenth-century literary critic and historian whose work shaped Brazilian letters.
A Lagarto map poster shows the balance between a busy town centre and the open countryside around it. The central grid is dense, and roads stretch in long lines towards neighbouring towns. Beyond the last streets, the map opens into quiet space dotted with rural roads and field edges.

Outward roads
Routes to other towns in Sergipe leave the centre in long, clear lines, giving the map a spoke-like structure.
Rural edges
Beyond the last neighbourhoods, a scattering of farm roads and field boundaries breaks the space into irregular plots.
