The Logone
The river is by far the strongest feature on the map. Its broad, gently curving channel defines the town's edge and orients every street near it.

Laï Map Poster & Print
Laï is the capital of Tandjilé Province in southwestern Chad, built on the banks of the Logone as the river flows north toward its meeting with the Chari. The water shapes the town's layout: streets run roughly parallel to the river, and beyond the built-up area the land opens into a broad floodplain that changes with the seasons.
In the rainy season the Logone spreads across its flats and much of the surrounding country becomes wetland. In the dry months the river shrinks back into its main channel, and the plain returns to farming and grazing. The river has long served as a route for travel and trade, and the life of the town is closely tied to it.
A Laï map poster gives the river pride of place. Its wide, curving course crosses the sheet as the main feature, secondary channels and pools trace the floodplain, and the town's modest street pattern holds to the bank. The map is as much about water as about streets.

Floodplain channels
Side channels and seasonal pools spread across the low land beside the river. Their delicate, irregular shapes come alive in fine black lines.
Riverside streets
The streets of Laï run broadly along the river and back from it. The simple, loose pattern of blocks makes the town's close tie to the water easy to read.

အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရှိသော မြေပုံ
Laï is home to many families in Tandjilé and a point of reference for everyone who has travelled the Logone. A map of the town and its river makes a meaningful gift for someone far from southern Chad.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and the map comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint suits the river especially well. Choose the $9 HD download or a matte printed poster.
