Roadside settlement
Homes and plots gather along the main routes, so the densest linework on the map follows the roads instead of forming a compact centre.

Nangomba Map Poster & Print
Nangomba lies in the Mtwara Region of southern Tanzania, inland from the Indian Ocean coast and north of the Ruvuma River, which marks the border with Mozambique. This is a largely rural part of the country, and the map reflects that. Instead of a dense urban core, it shows roads, footpaths and homesteads spread across a broad landscape.
Settlements in this area tend to follow the roads, with houses and small plots lining the main routes and thinning out into cultivated fields and bush. The Mtwara Region as a whole is known for agriculture, and cashew trees are a familiar part of the southern Tanzanian landscape, giving the countryside its scattered, open texture.
A Nangomba map poster does not rely on famous landmarks. Its appeal is in the pattern itself: fine tracks branching away from the main road, clusters of buildings, and the wide spaces in between. In black and white it becomes a spare, personal record of a place that rarely appears on printed maps.

Branching tracks
Smaller paths and farm tracks split off from the main roads and fade into the surrounding land, drawing fine, irregular lines across the print.
Open countryside
Wide areas of farmland and woodland surround the settlement, leaving generous empty space in the design that gives the few drawn lines more weight.
