Nāyanakulam Map Poster & Print
Nāyanakulam is a locality in the Madurai area of southern Tamil Nadu, on the plain surrounding one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in India. The name ends in kulam, the Tamil word for a tank or pond, a reminder of how closely settlement here has always been tied to storing water in a dry climate.
On a map the area shows the typical pattern of Madurai's growing edges: clusters of tightly packed streets, newer plotted layouts with regular lanes, and open land between them. Tanks appear as smooth blank shapes bounded by embankments, and they give the composition an organic counterweight to the fine lines of the residential streets.
A Nāyanakulam map poster is a personal print, likely to mean most to people who live here or grew up nearby. It captures a part of the Madurai region that rarely features in guidebooks yet has its own clear pattern, and the relatively uncluttered layout allows minimalist styles to show each street distinctly.

Plotted layouts
