Oyo Map Poster & Print
Oyo is a historic town in Oyo State in southwest Nigeria, north of Ibadan, set on gently rolling land where forest gives way to savanna. It is the seat of the Alaafin, the traditional ruler whose title goes back to the Oyo Empire, one of the most powerful states in West African history. From above, the town spreads outward from its old core in a loose, low-rise pattern.
The present town was established in the nineteenth century, after the old imperial capital far to the north was abandoned. The Alaafin's palace and its grounds remain at the heart of the town, and main roads lead out toward Ibadan, Ogbomosho and Iseyin. Oyo is also known for its craftspeople, especially the carvers of decorated calabashes.
An Oyo map poster keeps the composition simple and honest: the central palace area, the roads leading toward neighbouring cities, and the gradual thinning of streets into farmland. It suits people with family roots in Oyo, and anyone who wants a quiet reminder of one of Yorubaland's most important historic seats.

Outbound roads
Main routes leave the town toward Ibadan, Ogbomosho and Iseyin, forming long lines that give the map a clear sense of direction and connection.
Savanna edges
Beyond the built-up area the streets thin out into farmland and open country, so the town appears as a distinct patch within the wider landscape.
