Pānihāti Map Poster & Print
Panihati is part of the Kolkata metropolitan area in North 24 Parganas, on the east bank of the Hooghly River. From above it is a long, narrow town that follows the river. The main road, Barrackpore Trunk Road, runs parallel to the bank, and dense neighbourhoods fill the land between it and the water, with the suburban railway line farther inland.
The town has a long history as a riverside settlement. It is known for a festival associated with the Vaishnava saint Nityananda, when devotees gather by the river to share flattened rice and curd. The ghats and old temples along the bank are the focal points of that tradition.
A Pānihāti map poster shows a typical pattern of towns along the Hooghly: a wide river on one side, a main road running through the centre, and a thick network of narrow lanes between them. Ponds and tanks are scattered throughout, adding small shapes of water. The result is a dense, finely detailed image that reads well at large sizes.
