Napoleonic grid
The planned quarter has straight avenues and regular blocks. It is a rare example of Napoleonic town planning in Brittany, and it stands out clearly on the map.

Pontivy Map Poster & Print
Pontivy is in central Brittany, on the Blavet River where it joins the Nantes–Brest Canal. From above, the town has two distinct faces. On one side is the old medieval quarter, a tangle of narrow streets below the Rohan castle. On the other is a planned district of straight avenues and regular blocks, laid out on Napoleon's orders in the early nineteenth century.
Napoleon saw Pontivy as a strategic point in central Brittany, linked by canal to the ports. The new town was briefly called Napoléonville. Its broad, geometric streets still contrast sharply with the older core. The Blavet and the canal run through the middle, with locks and towpaths that are now used for walking and cycling.
The Château des Rohan, a fortress with massive towers, stands at the edge of the old quarter. The Pontivy map poster makes this layering easy to read: river and canal, a medieval knot of streets and a clean imperial grid, all in one compact frame.

Medieval quarter
Narrow, irregular streets cluster near the Rohan castle. They form a dense, organic pattern next to the geometric new town.
Blavet and canal
The river and the Nantes–Brest Canal run through the centre with locks and towpaths. They add a calm, curving line across the town.

အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရှိသော မြေပုံ
Pontivy appeals to people with Breton roots, to canal cyclists and to anyone interested in how towns were planned. Its two contrasting halves make an unusually readable and handsome map.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line in French, Breton or English, perhaps with a family name or a date. Five styles are available. Blueprint suits the Napoleonic grid, and Paper suits the old quarter.
