Vermelho River
The river bends through the city and breaks up the grid. It gives the poster a softer, curving line among the straight avenues and residential blocks.

Rondonópolis Map Poster & Print
Rondonópolis lies in the south-east of Mato Grosso on the banks of the Rio Vermelho. The river curves through the city and is the main natural feature in an otherwise regular street pattern. The centre follows a grid, and newer neighbourhoods extend outward in blocks set at different angles, because the city has grown quickly over the past decades.
The city is a key point in Brazil's grain trade. Major federal highways meet here, among them the BR-163 and BR-364, and a large rail terminal loads soybeans and corn for export towards the port of Santos. On the map these routes appear as long, confident lines cutting through the city and out into open farmland.
The city is named after Marshal Cândido Rondon, the explorer who led telegraph expeditions through the Brazilian interior in the early twentieth century. A Rondonópolis map poster brings the river, the grid and the transport routes together in one frame. It gives a clear picture of a city shaped by movement and by the farming country around it.

Highway junction
The BR-163 and BR-364 meet at Rondonópolis. Their routes form some of the heaviest lines on the map as they approach and leave the city.
Expanding districts
Newer neighbourhoods sit at slightly different angles from the central grid. This visible trace of rapid growth makes the street pattern more varied than it first appears.
