San Borja Map Poster & Print
San Borja lies in the Beni Department of Bolivia, in the Amazon lowlands where the Andes give way to wide plains. The town sits near the Maniqui River, and from above the landscape around it is a mix of savanna, gallery forest and water that loops and bends across the flat ground. The town itself is a clear grid set down in this open country.
The streets form a regular pattern of blocks around a central plaza, as in many towns founded by Spanish missions in the region. An airstrip lies close to the built area, a practical necessity in a part of Bolivia where road connections can be difficult in the rainy season.
The town is a gateway to protected areas nearby, including the Beni Biological Station and Pilón Lajas. A San Borja map poster shows the contrast between the neat urban grid and the looser, natural lines of the river and wetlands around it.

Maniqui River
The river winds across the plain near the town, its meanders and oxbows adding soft, curving lines to the map.
Airstrip
A long straight runway lies beside the town, a strong linear element that reflects how important air travel is in the Beni lowlands.
