Mile grid
Major roads are spaced a regular mile apart, dividing Scottsdale into large squares. Curving neighbourhood streets, golf fairways and resort landscapes fill each one.
McDowell Mountains
To the north-east, the streets thin out against the McDowell Mountains and the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Here the map becomes largely empty desert terrain.
