Tékane Map Poster & Print
Tékane lies in the Trarza region of southwestern Mauritania, close to the Senegal River, which forms the border with Senegal. The land here is flat and dry for most of the year. The river valley stands apart from its surroundings as a strip where water allows farming and where settlements are concentrated.
From above, the town appears as a loose network of streets and compounds, with sandy tracks leading out to fields and neighbouring villages. Irrigated plots along the river form geometric blocks, a clear sign of how the Senegal River supports agriculture on the edge of the Sahara's southern fringe.
A Tékane map poster shows this relationship between town, river and field in a spare, graphic way. Wide empty spaces and a handful of strong lines give the print a calm character that reflects the open Sahelian landscape.

Irrigated field blocks
Rectangular farm plots and irrigation channels create a geometric pattern near the river, contrasting with the loose layout of the town.
Open plains
Beyond the fields, the land opens into flat, sparsely marked terrain. The white space gives the poster a quiet, expansive balance.
