Tocoa Map Poster & Print
Tocoa lies in Colón Department in northern Honduras, on the broad floodplain of the Aguán River valley. The land around it is flat and fertile, bordered by mountains to the south. On a map, the town is a compact grid of streets on level ground, with roads leading out across the valley.
The surrounding area is mostly agricultural, with large plantations and fields that show on the map as wide, regular blocks. Rivers and streams run through the valley toward the Caribbean coast to the north, adding curving lines to the otherwise straight patterns of roads and fields.
A Tocoa map poster shows a town that is closely tied to the land around it. The simple street grid, the roads crossing the valley and the plantations beyond make a clear, uncluttered composition, a quiet portrait of a working town in the Aguán valley.
