Trucuk Map Poster & Print
Trucuk lies in Klaten Regency, Central Java, on the fertile plain between Yogyakarta and Surakarta. Volcanic soils and a dependable water supply have made this lowland intensively farmed for centuries. Settlement here takes the form of many closely spaced villages rather than one large town centre.
On the map, the result is a patchwork. Clusters of houses and lanes appear like islands among rice fields, and the fields are divided into small, regular plots by paths and irrigation channels. Roads link the villages in a loose network, and small rivers cross the plain from the slopes to the north. The texture is fine and repetitive.
A Trucuk map poster turns that agricultural pattern into something graphic. The contrast between dense village cores and the open geometry of paddy fields gives the poster its structure. The piece comes from the shape of the land and the way people have worked it, rather than from any single landmark.
