Vélingara Map Poster & Print
Vélingara is a town in Kolda Region, in the southeast of Senegal, not far from the borders with the Gambia and Guinea-Bissau. The land is flat and open, and on the map the town appears as a loose grid of wide streets, with compounds and courtyards filling the blocks.
Main roads meet in the town and lead toward Kolda, Tambacounda and the nearby borders, which makes Vélingara a busy stop for trade and travel in Upper Casamance. The roads show up as long, straight lines that run out of the grid into the surrounding countryside.
Beyond the town, the wooded savannah is dotted with fields and small villages, and seasonal streams run across the land. A Vélingara map poster shows a crossroads town: an open grid at the centre and roads heading off in several directions toward neighbouring countries.
