Waghäusel Map Poster & Print
Waghäusel sits on the Upper Rhine Plain north of Karlsruhe. The town was formed in 1975 by combining Kirrlach, Wiesental and Waghäusel, and the map still shows three separate settlement cores linked by roads across the fields. Each has its own main street and a small tangle of older lanes, with newer residential grids built out around it.
The ground is almost entirely flat. To the west, old Rhine channels and drainage ditches cross wet meadowland, while the Hardt forest's pine woods cover large areas around the settlements. Waghäusel is known for its baroque pilgrimage church and the Eremitage, an eighteenth-century hunting lodge built for the Prince-Bishops of Speyer. A large sugar factory also stood here for more than a century.
A Waghäusel map poster shows a town that grew from several villages: distinct clusters of streets separated by forest and field, joined by straight country roads and a railway line. The balance between built-up areas and open land gives the print a calm, spacious composition that differs clearly from a single-centre town.

Pilgrimage church and Eremitage
The historic heart of Waghäusel groups the baroque pilgrimage church and the octagonal hunting lodge, a small formal area within the modern plan.
Rhine lowland
Toward the west, drainage ditches, old river arms and wet meadows mark the edge of the Rhine floodplain in fine, meandering lines.
