Ridge-top roads
Main routes follow the crests of the hills, so the road lines on the map curve gracefully and trace the shape of the land beneath them.

Zanandore Map Poster & Print
Zanandore lies in Gitega Province, on the central plateau of Burundi, a landscape of rounded hills and narrow valleys. Settlement here spreads across the slopes rather than gathering into a compact centre. On the map it looks like a scattering of homesteads linked by winding roads and footpaths.
The terrain drives everything. Roads curve along ridgelines and down into valleys, and small streams run along the lower ground. Fields cover the hillsides in a fine patchwork, so the map has a textured, organic quality rather than a planned one.
A Zanandore map poster is less a portrait of a town than of a hill country community. The lines are delicate: tracks tracing contours, a few stronger roads and the soft network of valleys between. It suits anyone who knows the particular rhythm of life on Burundi's hills.

Valley streams
Small watercourses run through the lower ground between hills. They add thin, meandering lines that separate one slope from the next.
Dispersed homesteads
Homes spread across the hillsides instead of forming a dense centre. This dispersed pattern is typical of rural settlement in central Burundi.
