Colonial street grid
The historic centre follows the Spanish colonial pattern of square blocks around a central plaza. The layout stays crisp and legible when it is reduced to lines on paper.

Guaduas Map Poster & Print
Guaduas sits in a valley on the western slopes of Cundinamarca, partway down from the Bogotá plateau toward the Magdalena River. For centuries it was a stopping point on the Camino Real linking the capital with the river port of Honda. The town still shows that role in its compact colonial core of regular blocks, with the main square at its heart.
Guaduas is widely known as the birthplace of Policarpa Salavarrieta, La Pola, a heroine of Colombia's independence whose name appears across the country. Its historic centre of whitewashed houses and tiled roofs is protected as national heritage. On a map, the old town reads as a tidy rectangle of streets that loosens into irregular roads as the land begins to climb.
A Guaduas map poster shows that contrast clearly. The right-angled colonial plan sits on the valley floor, while roads twist outward to follow the hills and streams around it. Drawn in fine black lines, the town looks like what it was built to be: an orderly waystation in steep, green country between the highlands and the river.

Royal road route
Guaduas grew as a rest stop on the Camino Real between Bogotá and Honda. The roads leaving town still point toward the highlands on one side and the river on the other.
Valley and slopes
Beyond the grid, streets bend and thin out as the terrain rises. The edge where regular blocks give way to winding roads is one of the most striking lines on the map.

किन Guaduas
अर्थपूर्ण नक्सा
Guaduas draws visitors for its preserved colonial streets and its place in the story of independence. A map poster is a restrained way to remember a walk around the plaza or a family connection, and it suits rooms where a photograph might feel too literal.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a wedding date or the year you visited. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the $9 HD files in six sizes or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
