Six volcanoes
Wolf, Darwin, Alcedo, Sierra Negra, Cerro Azul and Ecuador form the body of the island. Each is a rounded summit, and together they give the outline its segmented, seahorse form.

Isabela Island Map Poster & Print
Isabela is the largest island of the Galápagos and makes up more than half of the archipelago’s land. Its outline is often compared to a seahorse. It formed when six shield volcanoes grew together, and several of them remain among the most active in the world. The equator crosses its northern part, so the island lies in both hemispheres.
On a map the volcanoes appear as broad, rounded summits with calderas at their centres, linked by lower ground covered in lava. Wolf Volcano in the north is the highest point in the archipelago, and Sierra Negra in the south has one of the widest calderas. The coastline is long and varied. Fernandina lies just off the western coast across the Bolívar Channel.
Most people live in Puerto Villamil on the southern coast, a small town with sand streets, a beach and lagoons behind it. An Isabela Island map poster brings the scale of the island into one frame. The town is a small patch of detail at the edge. The rest is volcano, lava and coastline running north toward the equator.

Puerto Villamil
The main town sits on the south coast beside a long beach and a string of lagoons. Its small grid of streets is the densest detail on the island.
Bolívar Channel
The narrow channel along the western coast separates Isabela from Fernandina. This band of water sets off the island’s western edge in the composition.

किन Isabela Island
अर्थपूर्ण नक्सा
Isabela is a place of scale, where volcanoes and lava fields dwarf the one small town. Visitors who have hiked Sierra Negra or snorkelled along the coast often want a map that shows the whole island at once. Its shape is distinctive enough to recognise immediately.
Add a title and subtitle, such as the name of a trip or research season, and a date in the coordinates line. Five styles are available, including Blueprint for a nautical feel and Sand for the lava and beaches. Classic black & white looks most like a chart.
