The Turya River
The river runs through the town and sets its orientation, with the older streets and the former works gathered along its banks before the land opens out to the north and east.

Karpinsk Map Poster & Print
Karpinsk sits in the far north of Sverdlovsk Oblast, where the eastern slope of the Urals begins to flatten toward Siberia. On a map the town follows the Turya River, with a compact core near the water and residential blocks spreading along roads that soon give way to forest. The edges feel provisional, as if the woodland could reclaim them at any time.
The settlement grew around a copper works founded in the eighteenth century and was long known as Bogoslovsk. In 1941 it was renamed in honour of Alexander Karpinsky, the geologist and first elected president of the Soviet Academy of Sciences, who was born nearby. Mining shaped the place: brown coal pits and industrial sites still leave broad pale patches around the town.
A Karpinsk map poster keeps that mix of river, grid and extraction in plain black and white. The Turya becomes a curving line, the housing blocks turn into short, regular strokes, and the surrounding land reads as open space. It suits someone who knows the northern Urals first-hand, or who likes maps where industry and wilderness sit this close together.

Mining landscape
Around the town, former and working coal pits appear as large irregular shapes, cut sharply against the fine texture of the streets and the forest roads.
Taiga edges
Past the last housing blocks the street network stops almost at once, leaving thin roads and tracks heading off into the forest of the northern Urals.

किन Karpinsk
अर्थपूर्ण नक्सा
Karpinsk tends to be hung by people with a direct tie to it: families who worked in the mines, people who grew up by the Turya, geologists who know the name. The poster records a remote industrial town without romanticising it, using only lines and open space.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example adding a family name or the year you left. Choose from Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the HD files for $9 or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
