Pèkon Map Poster & Print
Pèkon is a town in the southern part of Shan State in Myanmar, close to the border with Kayah State. The area is hilly upland, and the map reflects that: roads curve to follow valleys, the town gathers where the ground is level enough to build on, and farmland fills the lower land in between. Water is a strong presence nearby, with streams and reservoirs shaping the valleys.
The region is closely linked with the Kayan people, whose villages sit in the hills around the town. From above, those villages appear as small clusters joined to Pèkon by thin, winding roads. The town itself has a simple structure, with a main street, a market area and houses spreading outward until the slopes and paddy fields take over.

Winding hill roads
The roads leaving Pèkon bend and double back as they follow the land. These curving lines give the map most of its movement and show the upland terrain.
Water in the valleys
Streams and nearby reservoirs cut through the surrounding land. On the map they form the smooth, continuous shapes that set the lowland farms apart from the hills.
