Sang-e Chārak Map Poster & Print
Sang-e Chārak lies in Sar-e Pol province in northern Afghanistan, in hilly country that rises toward the mountains of the interior. On the map, the settlement is a cluster of lanes and walled compounds gathered along a valley, where water and flatter land make farming and building possible.
Around the town, the terrain is open and largely treeless, and the valley floor stands out as a strip of fields and orchards. A few roads and tracks lead out of the valley, connecting Sang-e Chārak to other districts and to the provincial centre, following the easiest routes through the hills.
A Sang-e Chārak map poster reflects the close relationship between settlement and landscape in this part of Afghanistan. The narrow band of lanes and fields, surrounded by wide empty space, creates a spare and quietly striking composition in black and white.

Field strip
Cultivated plots and orchards line the valley, creating a band of fine texture on the map that contrasts with the open hills on either side.
Mountain tracks
A few roads and tracks leave the valley and climb into the surrounding hills, their thin, winding lines hinting at the rugged terrain beyond.
