Shūrash is in Sulaymaniyah Governorate in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It sits in the transition zone where the Zagros foothills soften into the plains that run west toward Kirkuk. From above, the settlement is a tight cluster of streets and low-rise blocks, surrounded by broad farmland and dry, gently folded hills.
The map works through contrast rather than complexity. Main roads cut straight lines through the countryside, while the local streets form a denser weave where most daily life happens.
