The Izhma River
The river loops past the town in wide bends, a broad pale shape that separates the built-up area from the forest on the far bank and gives the map its main curve.

Sosnogorsk Map Poster & Print
Sosnogorsk sits on the Izhma River in the Komi Republic, a short distance from Ukhta, in country where the northern taiga runs almost unbroken. From above, the town is defined by two lines: the curving river and the railway that crosses it. Housing blocks, yards and industrial sites fill the ground between them, and beyond the last streets the map turns quickly to forest and wetland.
The settlement grew up as a railway point on the line pushing north toward Pechora and Vorkuta, and it later took the name Sosnogorsk, built from the Russian words for pine and hill. The rail yards remain one of the largest shapes on the map, long parallel strokes that dwarf the residential streets. Gas processing is the other pillar of the local economy, visible as fenced industrial plots at the edge of town.
A Sosnogorsk map poster works best at a scale that keeps both the river and the rail corridor in the frame. In black and white, the water becomes a pale ribbon, the tracks a dense bundle of lines, and the blocks of housing a quiet pattern between them. It is a spare, northern composition, and it reads clearly even at the smaller print sizes.

Railway corridor
The line toward Pechora and Vorkuta passes through town, and its tracks, sidings and yards form the densest bundle of lines anywhere on the map.
Edge of the taiga
Past the outer streets, road detail thins fast. Scattered tracks and clearings lead into forest, so the poster shows a clear boundary between the built town and the wide northern landscape.
