Tahe Map Poster & Print
Tahe is a county town in the Greater Khingan region of Heilongjiang, near China's northern border. It lies in a river valley surrounded by the vast forests of the Daxing'anling mountains. Winters here are long and extremely cold, and the town developed largely around forestry and the timber industry.
From above, Tahe is a compact settlement stretched along the valley floor, with a fairly regular grid of streets and a river running beside it. A railway line follows the valley, and roads lead away through the forest toward other towns in the region. Beyond the built-up area, the map is almost entirely wooded hills.
A Tahe map poster shows a small town set against a very large landscape. The grid is tight, the river and railway frame it, and the forest provides wide, quiet margins. It is a meaningful map for people who grew up in the far north or worked in its forestry towns.
