Anloga sits on the thin strip of land that separates the Gulf of Guinea from the Keta Lagoon in Ghana's Volta Region. From above, the town reads as a long band rather than a circle. The beach runs along one side and the lagoon shore along the other, with a single coastal road threading between them and lanes and compounds filling the gap in a loose, sandy grid.
The town is the traditional capital of the Anlo Ewe, and each year it hosts Hogbetsotso, the festival that recalls the people's migration from Notsie.
