Compact centre
The urban area is small enough to sit comfortably within one frame, so the poster presents the town as a single legible shape rather than a cropped section.

Batalha Map Poster & Print
Batalha is a municipality in the north of Piauí, in Brazil's Northeast, well inland from the coast. Its urban core is small, and from above it appears as a tight cluster of streets surrounded by a wide expanse of countryside, crossed by a handful of roads that link it with neighbouring towns and farms.
Like many interior towns in the region, it is laid out largely as a grid of blocks, with the edges fraying into unpaved roads and rural lots. The name is shared with the monastery town in central Portugal, a small reminder of how many Brazilian place names were carried across the Atlantic during the colonial period.
A Batalha map poster suits the modest scale of the place. Instead of a fragment of a sprawling city, it shows a whole town at once, with room for the surrounding roads and field boundaries. In a minimalist style, the contrast between the dense centre and the open land around it gives the composition a calm balance.

Grid of blocks
Streets meet mostly at right angles, forming regular blocks that give the centre an orderly structure which reads clearly on the printed map.
Roads into the interior
A few routes leave town across open country, drawing long, thin lines that connect Batalha with the wider Piauí interior.

Many people from small towns in Brazil's interior have moved to larger cities, and a map of Batalha keeps the streets of home close. It is a simple, respectful way to mark where a family comes from, without needing a famous skyline.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or a year, and choose from five styles including Paper and Sand. Download print-ready files in six sizes for $9, or order a matte printed poster from one of our print partners.
