Looping hillside roads
Lanes climb from the valley in a series of bends, linking hamlets across the slope and giving the map its characteristic tangle of curves.

Cordon Map Poster & Print
Cordon is a village in Haute-Savoie set on the slopes above Sallanches, facing the Mont Blanc massif across the Arve valley. It is often called the balcony of Mont Blanc, a name that comes from the view rather than the map, but the map explains it: the commune occupies a steep hillside turned toward the massif, with roads climbing in loops from the valley floor to hamlets scattered across the slope.
The village is known for its Baroque church and for a small, family ski area above the houses. Settlement here is loose rather than concentrated, with chalets and farms spread along winding lanes and forest filling the steeper ground between them. At twenty-two square kilometres, the commune includes both inhabited slopes and higher, emptier mountain terrain.
A Cordon map poster turns that hillside into a delicate pattern of curving roads and small clusters of buildings, with the valley below as a denser band of streets and river lines. It is a detailed, slightly irregular composition, and a fitting keepsake for anyone who has watched the evening light change on Mont Blanc from these slopes.

Scattered hamlets
Rather than one dense centre, Cordon spreads into many small groups of chalets and farms, which appear on the print as a light scatter of blocks.
The Arve valley below
Toward Sallanches the ground flattens into the valley floor, where denser streets, the river and main roads form a contrasting band at the foot of the slope.

Cordon is remembered for a view, and a map is a good way to hold on to where that view was found. It suits someone who stayed in a chalet on these slopes, married in the village, or simply returns each year for the same horizon.
The title and subtitle can be edited to record a date or a name, and the coordinates line can be kept or changed. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as $9 digital files in six sizes or as a printed poster.
