Valley-floor streets
The town stretches along the flattest ground available, so its streets run in a narrow band that follows the shape of the valley.

Danzi Map Poster & Print
Danzi lies in the hilly country of eastern Chongqing, a landscape of ridges, deep valleys and terraced slopes. In terrain like this, towns take the shape the land allows, and on the map Danzi's streets follow the valley floor in a long, narrow form rather than spreading into a grid.
Roads enter and leave along the valleys, winding as they climb, and smaller paths fork up the hillsides toward farms and villages. The surrounding land is broken into irregular shapes by the contours, and even without relief shading, the curves of the roads reveal how steep the ground is.
Places like Danzi show the character of the Chongqing uplands clearly, with settlements tucked into the folds of the land. A Danzi map poster captures a town fitted to the terrain, its lines compressed by mountains on either side.

Winding mountain roads
Roads curve and switch back as they leave town, showing the steepness of the surrounding slopes through their line alone.
Hillside paths
Small paths and lanes climb away from the town toward farms and villages, adding fine detail to the otherwise open slopes.
