Mulde riverfront
The river curves along the old town's eastern edge, forming a strong, flowing boundary that defines the shape of the whole map.

Grimma Map Poster & Print
Grimma lies on the Mulde river in Saxony, southeast of Leipzig. The river defines its map: the old town sits on the western bank in a compact block of streets around the market square, with the castle and the former princely school close to the water. On the eastern bank, wooded slopes rise above the valley.
The town's closeness to the Mulde has shaped its history. The floods of 2002 caused severe damage to the old town, and Grimma has since built extensive flood defences along the river. The Pöppelmann bridge crosses the Mulde here, and a pedestrian suspension bridge spans the river nearby.
In black and white, Grimma shows a classic small German town plan, dense and irregular in the centre and bounded by the curve of the river. A Grimma map poster suits people who know the town from school, from family, or from the rebuilding years after the flood.

Old town core
Tight, irregular streets surround the market square, creating the densest part of the plan between the river and the later districts.
River crossings
The Pöppelmann bridge and a pedestrian suspension bridge link the two banks, drawing clear lines across the water.
